TILLANDSIA SELERIANA

Origen: desde el sur de México hasta honduras. 

Es una planta epífita, de las conocidas como plantas del aire porque sus pequeñas raíces sólo sirven para fijar la planta al árbol huésped.  Absorben tanto el agua como los nutrientes a través de una especie de escamas que recubren las hojas. Habitan bosques de pinos y robles hasta altitudes de 2.400 metros.

esta especie es una de las de mayor tamaño con un pseudobulbo que puede superar los 15 cm de diámetro. 

Soporta relativamente bien la sequía y las bajas temperaturas. Es posible que soporten heladas débiles y cortas.  

Se reproduce fácilmente separando los hijuelos que nacen en la base de la planta.

Origin: from southern Mexico to Honduras.

It is an epiphyte plant, known as air plants because their little roots only to fix the plant to the host tree. They absorb both water and nutrients through a kind of scales that cover the plant. They inhabit forests of pines and oaks up to altitudes of 2,400 meters.

This species is one of biggests with pseudobulbs that can exceed 15 cm in diameter.

It supports relatively good drought and low temperatures. Possibly thay can withstand light and short frost.

Propagation is easy by separating suckers born at the base of the plant.
