Origen: costa este de Australia

Es un helecho arborescente que, en su hábitat natural, puede alcanzar más de 10 metros de altura, con frondas de hasta 3 metros y un tronco esbelto de unos 15 cm de ancho. 

Es uno de los helechos arbóreos más fáciles de cultivar, soportando diferentes condiciones de cultivo, incluso el pleno sol si no hace demasiado calor y la humedad ambiental es alta. 

No soporta el frío y las frondas se empiezan a quemar cuando las temperaturas descienden de los 5ºC. Sólo soporta heladas muy débiles y cortas.

Common name: Lacy Treefern

It´s a tree fern that, in its natural habitat, can reach more than 10 meters high, with fronds up to 3 meters long and a slender trunk about 15 cm wide. 

It´s one of the easiest treeferns to grow, supporting different growing conditions even full sun if it´s not to hot and humidity is high. 

It can´t withstand cold weather and fronds begin to burn when temperatures drop below 5ºC. It only withstands ver light and short frosts.

Origen: helecho de amplia distribución por áreas tropicales y subtropicales de todo el mundo. 

Es un helecho terrestre, ocasionalmente epífito, con frondas que superan normalmente el metro de longitud y que, en áreas tropicales pueden superar los dos metros. 

Se reproduce muy fácilmente por división. 

Soporta las heladas débiles y cortas.

Common names: Macho Fern, Giant Sword Fern.

It´s a terrestrial fern, occasionally epiphytic, whose fronds are more than 1 metre long, although they may reach more than 2 metres long in tropical areas. 

Propagation is very easy by division.

It withstands light and short frosts. 

ASPLENIUM NIDUS

ASPLENIUM NIDUS

Origen: Sureste de Asia, Malasia, Indonesia y Filipinas, Noreste de Australia, Polinesia y Este de Africa. 

El helecho "nido de ave" es una planta cultivada ampliamente como planta de interior. En Recregarden hemos conseguido aclimatarla al cultivo en exterior, alcanzando un gran tamaño, con frondas de 130 cm.  

En sus áreas de origen puede alcanzar más de metro y medio de altura. Crece de forma epífita sobre árboles o rocas.

Dado su origen tropical no soporta el frío, aunque en Regregarden ha soportado temperaturas de 2ºC sin daños importantes. .

Common names: Bird´s-nest Fern, Nest Fern. 

Widely grown as indoor plant, here in Recregarden we grow it outdoors where it´s getting bigger and bigger with fronds up to 130 cm.  

In its native areas it can grow more than 1,5 metres tall. It grows epiphytically on trees and rocks. 

Due to its tropical origin it can´t withstand low temperatures, althought here in Recregarden it had withstood temperatures as low as 2º C (36º F) without big damages.

Origen: sur y oeste de Europa

Es un helecho que prefiere inviernos templados y veranos húmedos con frondas de textura suave y bipinnadas que pueden llegar a medir hasta 1,20 metros.

Frecuentemente cultivado como ornamental, con varios cultivares disponibles. El nuestro es un cultivar llamado "Goethe farm".

Common name: Soft Shield Fern.

It´s a fern that prefers mild winters and moist summers with soft textured bipinnate fronds up to 1,20 metres long. 

Usually grown as ornamental with many cultivars avalaible. Our one is a cultivar called "Goethe farm".
