ALOE VARIEGATA

Origen: Oeste de Sudáfrica y sur de Namibia.

Este pequeño aloe, que no supera los 30 cm, es uno de los más populares, y recibe el nombre inglés de "aloe pecho de perdiz" por los puntos que salpican sus hojas.

Suele florecer en invierno.

He leído que se reproduce fácilmente por semillas pero en Recregarden lo hemos hecho separando los hijuelos que, ocasionalmente, nacen en su base.

Soporta heladas débiles sin problemas.

Origin: Western South Africa and Southern Namibia

Common name: Partridge Breast Aloe, Tiger Aloe.

This is a little aloe growing no more than 30 cm, very popular for the spots of its leaves that resembles a partridge´s breast, hence its common name.

It usually blooms in winter.

I´ve read propagation is easy by seeds, but here in Recregarden we´ve used the offsets that sometimes grow in the base of the mother plant.

It withstands light frosts without problems.
