Lampranthus es un gran género de suculentas de porte rastrero.
Son nativas de Sudáfrica, muchas de ellas endémicas de la región del Cabo de Buena Esperanza.
Las flores pueden ser amarillas, naranjas, rosas o rojas. En algunos casos son iridiscentes. Necesitan pleno sol para abrirse totalmente.
Se propagan fácilmente por esquejes o semillas.
La mayoría de las especies soportan heladas débiles.

Lampranthus is a large genus of succulents widely grown as ground cover.
They´re native to South Africa, many of them being endemic to Cape of Good Hope area.
Flowers can be yellow, orange, pink or red. Sometimes they´re iridiscent. They need full sun to open.
Propagation is easy by cuttings or seeds.
Most species withstand light frosts.
