ARANEUS DIADEMATUS

A few days ago we showed the webs, now we show the spider. It´s european garden spider (although we cand find it in North America also), also calle cross spider or diadem spider due to the white spots in its back. Females built big round webs and wait head down for a prey in its centre. Males are much smaller than females and sometimes are eaten by them.

DAVALLIA TYERMANNII?

DAVALLIA TYERMANNI? (Sin. Humata tyermannii)

I´m not sure about the species. I think is D. tyermannii, with its characteristic whitish rhizomes (hence its common name: white rabbit´s foot fern), but it could be aldo D. griffithiana, very similar in appearance. Some authors consider them a single species.
Davallia tyermanni is native to China and D. griffithiana grows in Northern India, China and Taiwan.
Growing conditions are very similar to D. canariensis ones.
It withstands light frosts without problems.

DAVALLIA CANARIENSIS

DAVALLIA CANARIENSIS
