Origen: Africa del Sur

Planta rizomatosa vivaz que se aclimata perfectamente al clima del sur de España.

Existen numerosas especies y muchos híbridos. Las flores son normalmente azules, aunque existen cultivares de flores blancas.

Propagación: por division de mata a finales de invierno.

Resiste sin problemas heladas débiles.
