ROLDANA PETASITIS (sin. Senecio petasitis)
Origen: desde México a Nicaragua
Es un gran arbusto de tallos frágiles que puede alcanzar tres metros de altura y otros tantos de ancho.
Se la conoce como "geranio mexicano" por la forma de sus grandes hojas, que tienen textura aterciopelada, aunque no tiene ningún parentesco con los geranios.
Florece desde mediados de invierno hasta mediados de primavera, por lo que necesita temperaturas suaves para florecer.
Se reproduce por división, por esquejes o por semillas.
Soporta heladas débiles e incluso moderadas rebrotando desde las raíces si la parte aérea muere por ello.

It´s a weak-stemmed srhub that grows to 3 metres tall and wide.
It has big velvety leaves that resemble geranium ones (of course it´s not a geranium relative)
It flowers from mid winter to mid spring so it needs warm temperatures to bloom.
Propagation is by division, cuttings or seeds.
It withstands light frosts or even moderate ones usually resprouting from the ground if the plant dies back.
