ZAMIA INTEGRIFOLIA (sin. Zamia floridana)

Origen: Sur de Georgia y Florida (Estados Unidos) y algunas poblaciones en islas del Caribe.

Es una pequeña cycadal de rizomas ramificados y subterráneos.

Históricamente de sus rizomas se extraía una fécula llamada "arrow-root" de Florida.

Soporta heladas débiles sin problemas.

Common name: coontie, Florida arrowroot.

Little cycadal with branching, underground stems.

The name "arrowroot" come from the fact that, historically, a kind of starch was extracted from the underground stems.

It withstands light frosts.
