BAUHINIA TOMENTOSA

Origen: Sri Lanka, India, Africa Tropical y Sur de Africa

Esta bauhinia es un arbolito con porte arbustivo que puede llegar a medir 4,5 metros de altura.

Como todas las bauhinias tiene hojas bilobuladas en forma de corazón y, en verano, flores colgantes de color amarillo con el centro marrón oscuro.

Se reproduce por semillas.

Aprecio mucho el arbolito de las fotografías porque procede de una semilla que cogí en el parque Kruger de Suráfrica.

Soporta heladas débiles.

It´s a shruby little tree which can reach 4,5 metres in height.

As all bauhinias has bi-lobed leaves and, in summer, bell-shaped dropping yellow flowers with a dark brown spot in the centre.

It propagates from seeds.

This is one of my favourites plants since I´ve grown it from a seed I took from the wild at Kruger National Park in Southafrica.

It withstands light frosts.
