Origen: Este de los Himalayas y Norte de India

Los hedychiums son plantas vivaces rizomatosas originarias de zonas altas del sur de Asia, creciendo muchas especies en las zonas bajas de los Himalayas donde la humedad es alta, las heladas son raras y el calor tampoco es excesivo debido a la altura.

Pueden alcanzar dos metros de altura.

Prefieren zonas sombrías y humedas.

Los hedychiums suelen florecer a finales de verano o principios del otoño. Las flores son olorosas, sobre todo de noche.

Resisten heladas débiles pues, aunque las hojas mueran, el rizoma sobrevive.

Se propagan por división del rizoma.

Hedychiums are rhizomatous perennial native to high areas of southern Asia, growing many species near Himalayas where frosts are uncommon, humidity is high and summers are not very hot due to the highness.

They can grow up to 2 metres high.

The prefer shady and moist conditions.

Hedychiums flower from late summer to fall. Flowers have nice scent, by night mainly.

They are frost hardy if ground doesn´t freeze.

Propagation is by division.
