SELENICEREUS GRANDIFLORUS FLORECE POR PRIMERA VEZ

Este verano hemos tenido el placer en Recregarden de ver la primera flor del Selenicereus grandiflorus. Ha sido sólo una flor pero realmente espectacular con un tamaño de casi 30 cm. Como su nombre indica (selene significa luna y cereus cactus) es un cactus de floración nocturna y las flores se abren al anochecer y duran una sola noche.

This summer we´ve seen in Recregarden the first flower of Selenicereus grandiflorus. It has been just a single flower but it´s really spectacular with its nearly 30 cm in size. As its name shows (selene means moon and cereus means cactus) this is a night blooming cactus. Flowers open at dusk and close the following dawn, lasting just a single night.
