Es un pequeño arbolito que no suele alcanzar más de 4 metros de altura, frecuentemente menos.
Tiene hojas polilobuladas (normalmente 5 lóbulos) y pubescentes que pierde justo antes de florecer. Al nacer están recubiertas de una pelusilla de color rosado.
Las flores, rojas y acampanadas, crecen en las axilas de las hojas o directamente desde el tronco.
Soporta sin problemas heladas débiles y es también resistente a la sequía.
Se reproduce por semillas.

It is a small tree that usually doesn´t reach more than 4 meters of height, frequently less.
It has polylobulated (usually 5 lobes) and pubescent leaves that it loses just before it blossoms. At birth they are covered with pinkish hairs.
The flowers are red and bell-shaped and grow in the leaves axils or the leaves or directly from the stems.
It withstands light frosts and is also resistant to drought.
Propagation is by seeds.
